This policy explains what information pinkpastelstudios.com (“the site”, run by Madiha Ali of Pink Pastel Studio) collects when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have. I collect as little as possible, and I never sell your information.
Information you give me
- Contact form: your name, email address and message. These are used only to reply to you.
- Comments: if you leave a comment, your name, email address, website (optional) and comment are stored. Your email address is never shown publicly. An anonymised version of your email may be checked with the Gravatar service to show your profile picture.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe to the Ummah Snippet newsletter, your email address is stored by Substack, which sends the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in every email.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the site uses tools that record basic information about visits, such as pages viewed, the type of device and browser, and the country you visit from. This helps me understand which articles are useful. The site uses:
- Google Analytics (by Google), which uses cookies to measure visits. It only runs after you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link on the site. Google’s own privacy policy explains how it handles this data.
- Burst Statistics, privacy-friendly statistics stored on this site’s own server.
- Jetpack (by Automattic), for site statistics, security and spam protection.
- Essential cookies that keep the site working, for example remembering your cookie choice or your details when you comment.
Your browser settings also let you block or delete cookies.
Embedded content and links
Some pages include content from other sites, such as the Substack signup box. These behave as if you visited that site, which may collect data under its own privacy policy. The site also links to Etsy, Amazon, Instagram, quran.com, sunnah.com and other websites. When you follow a link, that site’s privacy policy applies.
How long information is kept
Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to answer you. Comments and their details are kept so that they can stay on the site. You can ask me to delete them at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Depending on where you live, laws such as Canada’s PIPEDA or the EU and UK GDPR may give you further rights. To make a request, use the contact page.
Children
Many articles are written for parents. The site is not directed at children, and I don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
